Millie Martini Bratten is the Editor in Chief of BRIDES magazine, the leading bridal publication in the United States and the country’s foremost authority on engagement, weddings, and marriage. In this position, she directs editors, writers, and designers in the production of BRIDES, and serves as editorial director of BRIDES-branded specials including BRIDES Receptions; BRIDES Honeymoons & Weddings Away, BRIDES Book of Etiquette, BRIDES Wedding Planner, BRIDES Guide to Wedding Music and BRIDES Little Book Series. Ms. Martini Bratten has been Editor in Chief of BRIDES since 1994, and has worked at the magazine for twenty-eight years. During her tenure as Editor in Chief, BRIDES has published the largest consumer magazine in the world, as measured by the Guinness Book of World Records. Ms. Martini Bratten also served as Editorial Director of the Condé Nast Bridal Group (a division created in February 2002), from 2002 to 2004. In this role she directed Condé Nast’s two industry-leading national bridal publications, BRIDES magazine and Modern Bride magazine, a series of leading regional bridal publications, and two web sites. Ms. Martini Bratten is interviewed extensively by national broadcast and print media as a spokesperson for the $161-billion wedding industry, and speaks on a variety of wedding- and marriage-related topics to organizations across the country. Her recent appearance and interview credits include Good Morning America, Today Show, All My Children, The Jim Lehrer Hour, Entertainment Tonight and Entertainment Tonight’s Insider, Extra, Access Hollywood, CNN, Wall Street Journal Report, WE: Women’s Entertainment Network, The Food Network, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and the Associated Press. Prior to becoming BRIDES Editor in Chief, Ms. Martini Bratten held several positions with the magazine, including Executive Editor, where she played a pivotal role in the creation and promotion of BRIDES “Little Book” series, BRIDES All New Book of Etiquette, BRIDES’ Wedding Planner, and BRIDES Guide to Wedding Music. As Fashion and Beauty Associate, she traveled extensively throughout the world, styling fashion and beauty photographs and worked with renowned photographers such as Horst P. Horst, Bert Stern, and Deborah Turbeville. Ms. Martini Bratten began her publishing career at Condé Nast in the merchandising department of Mademoiselle in 1975. |
